The Key Clubhouse of South Florida

The Key Clubhouse of South Florida offers a path to recovery and employment for adults living with serious and persistent mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, PTSD and schizoaffective disorder. The Key Clubhouse follows the evidence-based Clubhouse program model, which provides a non-clinical membership program focused on work, socialization, acquisition of pre-employment skills, and employment opportunities. Individuals who participate in a Clubhouse program have been found to have higher rates of employment, reduced hospitalization, reduced incarceration, and improved well-being as compared with other mental health programs. The goal is a high quality of life for all members, ongoing improvement, and the ultimate elimination of stigma associated with mental illness. Membership in The Key Clubhouse is free and for life.

The mission of The Key Clubhouse is to afford people who have been disrupted by mental illness the opportunity to recover meaningful and productive lives through reintegration in the workplace and the community.

In the three years since The Key Clubhouse opened its doors in its downtown Miami location, 200 people have enrolled in the program and became lifetime members. It is the only mental health rehabilitation program in Miami-Dade County that welcomes any individual who has a serious and persistent mental illness regardless of their insurance coverage or place of residence.
